The "Harlem Hellfighters" 369th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army during World War 1, were the first African American regiment to serve with the American Expeditionary Force. Attached to the 16th Division of the Fourth French Army. The French Government decorated the entire unit with the Croix de Guerre, its highest award for bravery.
